My more recent research into extinction has led me to take a big step back and to look at life systems in a more methodical way, as a pattern or score that influences the physical making of my work. My work entwines topics like ancestral trees, mycorrhizal networks, systems of the brain that control perception and sensation. Finding the connections in these ideas are grounding my practice in a new way and I am encouraged by the sensational effects of my work on the human brain and body. I am excited to find aspects of these networks mirrored in the signal flow of the studio that I use to create the piece or in the specific way it is edited, generating a new type of feedback loop that exists in the mind and within thought.
Taking the time to do nothing else but just listen or watch is a large part of my work.
